A Piece

A Piece

Created from nothing but a speck of joy,

We branched off.

We grew,

To outgrow the chains restraining us.

Piecing together, locking joints,

Welded and quenched.

Connected, all intertwined.

We forged.

Through customisation,

Adapting, seeking and dreaming.

Expanding this puzzle,

Binding new pieces.

Some pieces misplaced,

Misguided, mistaught.

Yet still,

We refined, all for perfection.

We're bolted with screws.

Dislodge one,

And we lose all functionality,

Eventually thrown away and ignored.

There's always an imperfection,

A jammed void left, incomplete.

Something we're devoid from.

Hidden, covered, layered by lies and deceit.
